Will snow prevent our next class from meeting on Feb. 25?

It is not looking very good for having photo class on Thursday Feb. 25

I will wait and see what the forecast looks like at noon on Wednesday and then call you.

Thursday: Snow. High near 35. Northeast wind between 8 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.

Thursday Night: Snow before 1am, then rain and snow. Low around 29. Blustery, with a north wind between 17 and 24 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 11 to 17 inches possible.

Light Drawing...long exposures, a light source and movement

We had a 3 hour power outage tonight at our house. I set up the tri-pod and we all experimented with light drawing with flashlights and light sticks. The kids had made light sabers from rolled paper with a flash light in one end. Most exposures were 20-30 seconds at F-16 and f-8.

Ice Lens

Check out this amazing shot which a buddy took of me on a hike the other day. We were following a frozen brook on our way to the top of Saddleback Wind Mountain in Carthage when we spotted this beautifully clear and flat ‘stalagmite’ icicle. Chuck put his wide angle lens behind it and shot this image of me taking a photo of him!  The Ice made a natural lens, very groovy! click the images to enlarge.
I’m curious which shooting topics people chose to work on. Would you post a sentence about what you chose and how it is going in the comment section below?

Self portraits... Meet the class!

Who is taking Mr. Mitman's Adult Ed, Digital Photography 101?

If your self portrait is not below and you would like me to add it, please email it to me. Try and reduce the file size of you image to 'medium' size (not full size, or original size) before you send it. You can follow the link 'how to optimize an image for email' on this blog that will take you through the steps.
